GCL Team - PRAGUE LIONS

Prague Lions will begin their fifth GCL season in 2022, bringing a combination of seasoned competitors and new talent. The team will be looking for a strong start to the season to kick things off, always aiming for one of the golden tickets to the GCL Super Cup Finals at their home event, the GC Prague Playoffs.

GCL Team - PRAGUE LIONS

Prague Lions will begin their fifth GCL season in 2022, bringing a combination of seasoned competitors and new talent. The team will be looking for a strong start to the season to kick things off, always aiming for one of the golden tickets to the GCL Super Cup Finals at their home event, the GC Prague Playoffs. 

Niels Bruynseels (NED) returns to the team alongside Sergio Alvarez Moya (ESP), Anna Kellnerová (CZE), and Leopold van Asten (NED). They now bring the ever-consistent Pieter Devos (BEL) and U25 Brian Moggre (USA) to their competitive lineup for the 2022 season. 

Niels Bruynseels: Competing for Belgium: Age 38: Niels has been on the GCL team competition since 2017, joining the Prague Lions in 2018 after one season with the Vienna Eagles. As a key member of the team, he competed at twelve events of the regular season, with notable podium finishes in Shanghai and New York in 2019. He returns to the team for the 2022 season, and contributed to the team's 6th place finish in the 2021 season. Can the Lions clinch a podium finish this year?

Pieter Devos: Competing for Belgium: From Bekkevoort: Age 36: Pieter has been competing on the GCL team competition since 2017. After the first season with Monaco Aces he switched to St Tropez Pirates and has been with them since. With multiple team podium finishes at different legs of the circuit, Pieter has been a pillar of the team for the last few years. and hugely contributed to their 2nd place finish in the overall 2019 ranking, being on the winning team in Hamburg and with podium finishes in Miami, Paris, Berlin and Valkenswaard 2019. The team finished 8th in 2021. 

Sergio Alvarez Moya: Competing for Spain: From La Coruña: Age 37: Sergio makes his return to the GCL team competition once more with the Prague Lions, after competing in 2017 with the Chantilly Pegasus and 2018 with the Cannes Stars. The Lions have introduced a couple of new faces this year, but are sure to make a strong bid for one of the coveted spots in the GCL Super Cup Final at their home event, the GC Prague Playoffs.

Anna Kellnerová: Competing for Czechia: Age 25:  Despite her young age, Anna has already vast experience in the GCL team competition. With a first season as the U25 rider for the Berlin Lions, she moved to the Prague Lions where she has played a key role in the team. With a notable win in Miami Beach 2018, Anna can always count on her teammates for advice. She remains with Prague Lions for 2022, who will be aiming for a podium finish this season.

Leopold Van Asten: Competing for the Netherlands: From Duizel: Age 45: From Duizel returns for another season with Prague Lions in 2022, after posting some solid performances for the team in 2021. He joins familiar faces Anna Kellnerová, Niels Bruynseels and Sergio Alvarez Moya, as well as U25 rider Brian Moggre and LGCT regular Pieter Devos.

Brian Moggre: Competing for the United States: Age 21: Brian started his competitive career in the jumpers, highlighted by a junior individual bronze medal at the 2016 FEI North American Youth Championship (NAYC) and team gold the following year as a young rider athlete, and team gold in 2017 and 2018 at the USEF Junior Jumper National Championships/Prix des States.

In 2021, Moggre and Balou Du Reventon helped the U.S. team win the FEI Jumping Nations Cup Wellington CSIO4*. Moggre partnered with MTM Vivre Le Reve to win the $50,000 Adequan WEF Challenge Round 12 CSI4* during week 12 of the Winter Equestrian Festival.
