With this star-studded lineup, Cannes Stars will be looking to improve on their performance in the 2021 season and aim for the top of the standings in 2022.

For the 2022 season, Cannes Stars bring forward three existing riders, and three new faces in a shake-up of new talent. Cian O'Connor (IRE), Sameh El Dahan (GBR), and U25 Max Wachman (IRL) return to the team - meanwhile, new additions will be Jens Baackmann (DE), Isabella Russekoff (USA) and Johnny Pals (NED). 

With this star-studded lineup, Cannes Stars will be looking to improve on their performance in the 2021 season and aim for the top of the standings in 2022. 

Cain O'Connor: Competing for Ireland: From Dublin: Age 41: Cian is a multi-medallist and one of Ireland’s longest-serving Team members. Cian is married to Ruth and they have two children, Ben and Cara. He competes at the very top level of international showjumping across the globe. Having ridden in his first Nations Cup for Ireland at the age of 19, Cian has gone on to achieve a remarkable record in selections for the Irish team, with 127 appearances to date under his country’s flag. 

An Olympic individual Bronze medal-winner at London in 2012, Cian has maintained a high level of success, and in 2017 added a European Gold team medal and a European individual Bronze medal to his record. 

Cian rides for Cannes Stars in 2022, alongside Sameh El Dahan, Johnny Pals, Jens Baackmann, Isabella Russekoff and Max Wachman. The team will be looking for redemption in the 2022 season after a disappointing 16th place in the 2021 overall season, but some fresh injections of talent are sure to set them on the right path. 

Sameh El Dahan: Competing for United Kingdom: Age 37: Sameh starts the 2022 season once more for Cannes Stars, alongside a few new faces for the team. They will no doubt be looking for redemption in 2022, aiming to improve on their disappointing 16th place in the 2021 overall season championship.

Johnny Pals: Competing for the Netherlands: Age 40: New to the GCL teams in 2021, Johnny will be looking to build on his experiences for a fresh start in 2022. He moves from Miami Celtics (2021) to Cannes Stars for 2022, looking to help the team improve on their performance in the overall season in 2021. With some strong individual performances, the team will be looking to Johnny and his teammates for a strong start to the year.

Jens Baachmann: Competing for Germany: Age 37: Jens is new to the LGCT and GCL circuit for 2022, making his first appearance for Cannes Stars this year. With this fresh injection of talent, the team will be looking to improve on their performance in 2021 with a strong start to the season. 

Isabella Russekoff: Competing for United States: Age 21: Young rider Isabella Russekoff is new to the LGCT and GCL circuit this year, and will be looking to make her mark on a new team. She rides for Cannes Stars and will be aiming to take the team up the leaderboard in the 2022 season. 

Max Wachman: Competing for Ireland: Age 18: In 2019 Max won an individual gold medal and team gold medal at the European Pony Championships in Strzegom, Poland. The talented youngster is going to be a key part of the Cannes Stars in 2022, riding as their U25 rider alongside experienced competitors such as Cian O'Connor and Sameh El Dahan.
