Home to some of the most prestigious showjumping classes in the world, the Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead is one of the pinnacles of the summer season. Thousands of equestrian fans flock to the All England Jumping Course each year to watch international highlights such as the Longines King George V Gold Cup, the Queen Elizabeth II Cup and the feature class, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Great Britain.
This iconic team competition sees the leading showjumping nations face each other with the aim of conquering the huge, technical track and securing their spot in the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona, plus it’s the only opportunity to watch the British showjumping team compete on home turf. As well as superb showjumping action, Hickstead’s July fixture is also the pinnacle of the summer showing season, with every show rider and producer striving to win a coveted blue ribbon.
In addition, there’s arena eventing, scurry driving, hackneys, side-saddle classes, and national showjumping from the British Showjumping Winter Finals to Riding Club team competition and tiny cross-poles for the very youngest of equestrians. With an extensive shopping village, a range of bars, restaurants and hospitality options, and the popular Ladies’ Day competition held on the Saturday, this show is one of the highlights of the Sussex social season.
Tickets start from £20 with advance discounts and concessions available; including free admission to all under-15s when booked in advance – visit www.hickstead.co.uk for more information.
