St Tropez Pirates sail into 2022 with two new additions to the team, shaking up their consistent line-up.

German superstar Daniel Deusser (DE), Athina Onassis (GRE), Olivier Robert (FRA) and U25 Michael Pender (IRE) all return to the starting block, and this year they will ride alongside Jérôme Guéry (FRA) and Adam Morgan (IRE).

St Tropez Pirates sail into 2022 with two new additions to the team, shaking up their consistent line-up. German superstar Daniel Deusser (DE), Athina Onassis (GRE), Olivier Robert (FRA) and U25 Michael Pender (IRE) all return to the starting block, and this year they will ride alongside Jérôme Guéry (FRA) and Adam Morgan (IRE). 

Now fielding two U25 riders alongside experienced stars of the sport, could this be the magic formula for St Tropez Pirates to take the title win in 2022? 

Daniel Deusser: Competing for Germany: from Mechelen: Age 40: Daniel competed for 3 years with the Shanghai Swans before being making the move to the St. Tropez Pirates. He was key to the success of the team in 2019, with back to back wins in Doha and Miami, podium finishes in Cannes, Paris and St Tropez and of course finishing with winning the GCL Super Cup at the Prague Playoffs 2019. He returns to the ever-competitive strong lineup of St Tropez Pirates for 2022, alongside seasoned icons of the sport and young talent.

Jérôme Guery: Competing for Belgium: Age 41: Jérôme has the same journey as his teammate, Julien when it comes to the GCL team competition. Also starting off in 2017 riding for the St Tropez Pirates, Jerome switched to the Monaco Aces in 2018. He was Julien's teammate when they finished 1st in Shanghai 2019 and was another experienced rider for Monaco Aces. In 2022, Jerome joins St Tropez Pirates for the new season alongside experienced competitors and young talent such as Daniel Deusser, Olivier Robert, and Michael Pender. The Pirates are sure to be competitive in this new running of the GCL.

Athina Onassis: Competing for Greece: Age 37: Athina is another rider of this St Tropez Pirates team who has competed in the GCL team competition since its creation in 2016. After 2016 riding for Madrid in Motion, Athina has been a St Tropez Pirate ever since, with successful results throughout the years, such as being part of the team finishing second in Miami 2019, and fourth in Mexico 2019. Athina remains with St Tropez Pirates for the 2022 season with a very competitive lineup.

Adam Morgan: Competing for Ireland: Age 24: Irish rider Adam Morgan joins the ever-consistent St Tropez Pirates for the 2022 season, and brings experience across numerous top level international competitions, as well as from training with Simone Blum to the fore. Adam will be one to watch with a solid string of horses for the new season. 

Olivier Robert: Competing for France: From Bordeaux: Age 45: Olivier joined the St Tropez Pirates team in 2019, and was quick to make a positive impact on the team, being on the team during their win in Hamburg 2019. Olivier has a strong string of horses at the moment and is sure to help the team pick up more placings. Olivier returns to St Tropez Pirates for 2022, surely aiming to contribute to continued success for this popular and talented team.

Michael Pender: Competing for Ireland: Age 22: Micheal is a newcomer to the GCL team competition and came into the St Tropez Pirates as the U25 rider in 2021. The young Irishman will continue to count on valuable advice from his experienced team members, making him one of the young riders to watch as he joins the team again in 2022.
