INTRODUCING  2023 GCL TEAM - The Shanghai Swans

Last year's fourth place getters in the GCL Championship, and third place winners of the GCL Super Cup at the GC Prague Playoffs, the Shanghai Swans are again anchored by two podium veterans in Max Kühner, Christian Ahlmann, coupled with the prowess of Daniel Deusser, a new member of the team, who after a blockbuster 2022 was crowened the GC Super Grand Prix Champion. Max, Christian and Daniel are joined by Samuel Hutton, Patrick Stühlmeyer, and young gun Jeanne Sadran (U25), rounding out an impressive team in the Shanghai Swans for 2023.

Christian Ahlmann Competing for: Germany Age: 48

Christian started his journey on the GCL circuit with the Scandinavian Vikings team in 2017, and subsequently moved to Shanghai Swans in 2021 - and has become a star striker for the team. He returns to the Swans for 2023, and will be looking to go one better than their impressive second place in the overall season championship in 2021. After their podium in the 2022 GCL Super Cup he will be a key element of the team to try and go one better this year!

Max Kühner Competing for: Austria Age: 49

Max started off his time on the GCL circuit for the Berlin Lions in 2017. After a short break due to injury, Max returned to GCL competitions with the Shanghai Swans and has been a firm fixture on this talented team since, bringing a wealth of experience and an ever-stronger string of horses. He returned to Shanghai Swans in 2022 as part of another strong lineup of riders - they were ones to watch again as they aim to replicate their 2021 performances. For the new 2023 season, Max continues with the Shanghai Swans as one of their anchors. 

Jeanne Sadran Competing for: France Age: 21

In an exciting step in her career, Jeanne Sadran has been retained on the Shanghai Swans line-up for 2023. Having joined the team in 2022, Jeanne has gone from strength to strength after her debut on the GCL circuit. 

Daniel Deusser Competing for: Germany Age: 41

Daniel competed for 3 years with the Shanghai Swans before being making the move to the St. Tropez Pirates. He was key to the success of the team in 2019, with back to back wins in Doha and Miami, podium finishes in Cannes, Paris and St Tropez and of course finishing with winning the GCL Super Cup at the Prague Playoffs 2019. He returned to the ever-competitive strong lineup of St Tropez Pirates for 2022, alongside seasoned icons of the sport and young talent. 2023 sees Daniel being picked up by the Shanghai Swans once again - aiming to make it big.
