Berlin Eagles were one of the teams to watch at the tail end of the 2021 season, with multiple successes and consistency putting them in a strong position for the top spots. 

Three riders return to the team for 2022 - German icons of show jumping Ludger Beerbaum (DE), Philipp Weishaupt (DE) and Christian Kukuk (DE). They add Eoin McMahon (IRE), Jane Richard Philips (SUI) and U25 talent Philipp Schulze Tophoff (DE) to the starting block for this exciting new season.

Ludger Beerbaum: Competing for Germany: from Riesenbeck: Age 58: Ludger joined the GCL team competition in 2017 on the Cannes Stars team before making the switch to the Berlin Eagles, with which he will now enter another consecutive season. Ludger brings his extensive experience of years competing at the top level of the sport, highlighted by his successful team results in 2019, notably when he was part of the winning team in Chantilly 2019 and who finished 2nd in Berlin and Stockholm. The Eagles also placed fifth in the 2021 overall season championship, and will be looking to finish even more strongly in 2022. 

Philipp Weishaupt: Competing for Germany: From Augsburg: Age 36: Philipp has been competing on the Berlin Eagles since 2018, with a notable 3rd place finish in Doha 2020. Always coming out strong Philipp will play a key part this year in the success of the Berlin Eagles.

Christian Kukuk: Competing for Germany: from Reisenbeck: Age 31: Christian followed the same path as his compatriot Ludger Beerbaum, competing on his first season with the Cannes Stars, before moving to the Berlin Eagles ever since. Christian was a key rider for the team in 2019, competing at eleven of the events of the regular season, making a successful pairing with Ludger, with their win in Chantilly and second place in Berlin 2019. The team finished fifth in the 2021 season and will be looking to finish ever-higher in 2022. 

Eoin McMahon: Competing for Ireland: Age 26: Eoin makes his debut on the GCL circuit in 2022 riding for Berlin Eagles alongside some established names of the sport and the team. They will be looking to improve on their fifth place finish in the 2021 season in 2022, with a fresh injection of talent to help them. 

Jane Richard: Competing for Switzerland: From Vinovo: Age 38: Jane is the pillar of this Cannes Stars team, having been a team member since 2017 with experience in competing in the majority of the events of the circuit, culminating with a fourth place in the Prague Playoffs 2019. Surrounded by new teammates, Jane took a lead role in the Berlin Eagles for 2021, and will remain with this strong team for 2022.

Philipp Schulze Tophoff: Competing for Germany: Age 23: Philipp joins Berlin Eagles for the 2022 season as their U25 rider. He'll ride alongside stalwarts of show jumping Ludger Beerbaum, Philipp Weishaupt and Christian Kukuk, as well as Eoin McMahon and Jane Richard Philips, and the team will be looking to improve on their fifth place finish in the 2021 season this year.
