New York Empire bring an impressive team with a wealth of experience to the 2022 season. Georgina Bloomberg (USA) returns to the team alongside LGCT Grand Prix winners Scott Brash (GBR), Spencer Smith (USA) and Denis Lynch (IRE).
They also inject some fresh talent with two U25 riders - Jodie Hall McAteer (GBR) and hugely successful Harry Charles (GBR) - this team is sure to be very competitive, with plenty of tactics at play to try to ensure their place at the top end of the leaderboard throughout the season.

Georgina Bloomberg: Competing for the United States: Age 39: Georgina has been competing on the GCL team circuit since its inception in 2016. Following two seasons with Miami Glory, she joined the New York Empire team in 2018. She heads up the team again in 2022 alongside familiar New York Empire faces and some new talent, and will be looking for a stronger finish this year in the overall season standings.
Denis Lynch: Competing for Ireland: Age 45: Denis is another experienced rider of New York Empire, having spent two seasons competing on the GCL competition before joining the New York Empire team in 2019. He returns for the team again in 2022, alongside regular teammates Georgina Bloomberg, Scott Brash and Spencer Smith, and will now be joined by Jodie Hall McAteer and U25 Harry Charles. This is looking like a super competitive lineup for 2022.
Scott Brash: Competing for the United Kingdom: From Peebles: Age 36: Scott first competed in the GCL team series for Miami Glory, before transferring to New York Empire alongside his team-mate Georgina Bloomberg. The extremely experienced British rider is a key fixture on the team, competing at 14 events in the 2019 season and contributing to notable podium finishes in Doha, Madrid, and London.
He returns to the team for the 2022 season, when the team will be bidding for a strong start in the early stages.
Spencer Smith: Competing for the United States: Age 25: Spencer enters his third season riding for the New York Empire team. After a promising initial season in 2019, being on the team finishing second in Madrid and first in Valkenswaard 2019, Spencer will be able to count on the encouragement of his experienced team-mates in order to build on these successes. They will be looking to improve on their season finish in 2021, but with some experienced faces and young super talent, New York Empire will be seriously competitive this season.
Jodie Hall McAteer: Competing for the United Kingdom: Age 21: Jodie enjoyed a successful pony and junior career winning numerous national and international titles. In 2015 she won team gold and individual silver at the Pony European Championships in Sweden with her incredible pony Tixylix. Over the last year Jodie has stepped up remarkably to the top level of the sport. She made her senior team debut in Lisbon, Portugal last May and finished 8th in her first 5* Grand Prix on home ground at Hickstead. She had two very successful shows at Samorin and Prague in 2021, and this year joins New York Empire, transferring over from Cascais Charms.
Harry Charles: Competing for the United Kingdom: Age 22: Harry comes from an equestrian family and is the son of top rider and 2012 Olympic team gold medallist Peter Charles. Full of talent, he brought no less than 6 championships medals to his name at home! 2018 was clearly a year to remember as Harry entered CSI 5* for the first time in 2018 in Aachen and competed in his first ever LGCT event in London in August 2018 where he reached the LGCT Grand Prix jump-off and honourably ended up 6th with one fence down. At the end of the Summer, he made his first appearance on a 5* Nations Cup team and delivered two clear rounds.
He had an incredible show at the London International Horse Show in 2021 with three 5* wins, including winning the World Cup competition with Stardust, and the Grand Prix with Borsato. As of February 2022, he leads the FEI Jumping U25 Ranking.
Harry joins New York Empire in 2022 as their U25 rider alongside superstars such as Scott Brash and Denis Lynch, Georgina Bloomberg and Spencer Smith. He will surely make this team one of the ones to beat in 2022.
