Martin Fuchs (SUI) and The Sinner master the course and the competition at the Jumping International de La Baule CSIO 5*

Fuchs sailed to first place in the tiebreaker aboard Luigi Baleri's 2008 bay Oldenburg gelding (Sanvaro x Landgold 3), just three-tenths of a second quicker than the next highest-placed pair.

The Swiss anthem was played over the stands and field of the François André stadium on a fantastic Saturday for elite sport at the Jumping International de La Baule CSIO 5*, and a former world number one rated rider stole the show. Martin Fuchs (SUI) and The Sinner won the €95,200 Prix Saur CSIO 5* after mastering the course and the competition.

Fuchs sailed to first place in the tiebreaker aboard Luigi Baleri's 2008 bay Oldenburg gelding (Sanvaro x Landgold 3), just three-tenths of a second quicker than the next highest-placed pair.

After winning the €25,500 Prix Département Loire Atlantique CSIO 5* on Thursday with the same mount and a second win with Lord de Muze in the €25,500 Prix Bouygues Immobilier CSIO 5* on Friday, Mathieu Billot (FRA) came extremely close to winning the event for the third time. The Frenchman finished second with H (Indoctro x Emilion) after registering no penalties in the decisive phase in 36.81 seconds.

Another former world number one rider took third place on the podium. Harrie Smolders (NED) was faultless aboard Uricas V/D Kattevennen (Uriko x San Patrignano Cassini) in the tiebreaker, clocking 37.24 seconds.
