FEI SPORTS FORUM 2024 Lausanne (SUI), 29 April 2024

The FEI Sports Forum 2024, which will be held at the prestigious IMD Business School in Lausanne (SUI), will begin on Monday, 29 April at 09:00.

As is now tradition, FEI President Ingmar De Vos will welcome the representatives of the equestrian community. The President’s opening address will be followed by a presentation by Cyril Bouquet, Professor of Strategy and Innovation at IMD.

Sessions

The 2024 edition will then kick off in earnest with the first Session, which will be dedicated to the final report produced by the Equine Ethics and Wellbeing Commission and the proposed action plan. The Session will be moderated by FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez and Malin Axel-Nilsson, an expert in ethology and animal science from Sweden, and will feature FEI Veterinary Director Göran Åkerström and FEI Legal Director Mikael Rentsch as panellists.

Proceedings will continue in the afternoon with Session 2: Sustainability – a call for action where the panellists will be Johan Fyrberg, Secretary General of the Swedish Equestrian Federation; Fabrizio d’Angelo, IOC Sustainability Manager; Barbara Silva, Head of Sustainability at the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA); and Aileen McManamon, founder and Managing Partner of 5T Sports Group. Somesh Dutt, FEI Manager Events Classification & Sustainability, will also make a presentation and will be the Session’s moderator.

Session 3: FEI Equine Anti-Doping and Medication Control Regulations will conclude the Sports Forum’s first day. FEI Legal Director Mikael Rentsch will be the moderator alongside FEI Veterinary Director Göran Åkerström and FEI Senior Veterinary Advisor Caterina Termine and Lynn Hillyer, Chief Veterinary Officer/Head of Anti-Doping, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) will also be on the panel.

A written summary of each session will be made available by the end of the day.

Live broadcast

The FEI Sports Forum 2024 will be broadcast live and will be available to watch here. Those following the event remotely will be able to join the discussion through a live chat.

The Sessions will also be available in replay mode after the end of the Sports Forum.
